FOCUS

“Here’s hoping” is something I often write or say when interacting with someone concerning something we’d both like to see happen. Or at least I would. It affirms the reality that it may not happen when or the way we’d like. When it comes to circumstances & others’ choices, it carries a sense of knowing it may not ever happen. But when it’s connected to something God has promised or the scriptures tell us will be, there is no sense of if, just when & how.

Remember that faith, hope & love remain. All three are each very, very, very important. But the greatest of them is love.

When it comes to hope for the Christian, we know …

1.whatever the issue is, it’s a done deal if God has promised it will be.

Hope, like love, is a noun & a verb. We can trust God & take Him at His word.

Jeremiah 17:12-14 1 Timothy 1:1 Hebrews 6:13-19 (2 Corinthians 1:20)

2. it always involves patience & pain / waiting & aching.

When we hope for something we anticipate it with confidence in God’s goodness.

Psalm 33:20 | 37:9 & 34 | 71:5 & 14 / Colossians 1:3-6

Making It Real

1] Are you convinced that “all the promises of God in Christ Jesus are yes & amen?”

2] Will you embrace God’s grace to hope & believe no matter the waiting & aching?

Action Step

Memorize Hebrews 6:19 & find Michael Card’s “Soul Anchor” on You Tube.
